Why do you volunteer? Are you connected to an organization’s mission? Are you passionate about giving back to others in any number of ways? Do you ultimately hope to leave the world a little better than you found it? At the Massachusetts Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, every individual that walks through our door has a different reason for volunteering. Yet there is one trait that all of our incredible volunteers share: An overwhelming desire to better the lives of those afflicted with a blood cancer.
The week of April 7th is National Volunteer Week. We must acknowledge that devoting just one week to these incredible individuals is not enough, but as an organization we will take this opportunity to thank all of our wonderful volunteers for all that they do!
To everyone who selflessly offers their time to better the lives of others, no matter the organization that you help, we say thank you! And just remember that volunteering takes countless forms. So find a cause or an organization that you are passionate about and find out how you can get involved. Whether it is once a week or once a month, no amount of time or effort is too small to change the lives of people who need it most!
